BUSINESS & SECURITIES SPECIALIST (X1)

JOB PURPOSE

To perform Investments & Securities reconciliations of the Unit in an efficient and effective manner to ensure accurate reporting. To analyse, provide guidance on the Securities, and review product/or departmental commissions & income performances.

Under the supervision of the Business Partner: Payments Centre, the following are among the Job Key Responsibilities:-

Review the Government Bond & Treasury Bill Instruments and Accounts on a daily basis.
Responsible for reconciling Treasury Bill & Government Bond transactions processed in the Treasury Operations/ Back Office.
To provide expert advice and equip key clients with appropriate tools and knowledge to effectively manage investments & commissions in line with sound policies & procedures.
Prepare and provide accurate daily updates & monitor relevant security- maturities/or ladders.
Monitor and provide appropriate accounting entries for maturities on the Bank of Zambia statement Current Account and General Ledgers.
Effective analysis & reconciliation of the various departmental Income, Commission, Interest Earned/Paid, P&L Accounts.
Review BOZ advices & redemptions on securities both in the primary and secondary markets.
Comprehensive application of the Treasury operations function around payments, settlements, and tax obligations.
Analyse nominal, cost, withholding tax, handling, and other fees in the Securities module.
Identify, investigate, query and follow up all discrepancies & exceptional items as per laid down procedure on a daily basis.
Produce Outstanding Items Report on a daily basis and Aged Analysis Report on a weekly basis with detailed explanation/ comments.
To provide professional fixed income expertise that delivers best & sound solutions that support the business.

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL CONTACT

External: BOZ, ZRA, Commercial Banks.
Internal: All Divisions.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Grade 12 Credit or above mandatory in Mathematics and English and any other three subjects.
Minimum Diploma in Accounting, or ZICA/ CIMA/ ACCA. Degree in Business, Management or a related field is an added advantage.

At least five (5) years Banking experience, of which preferably three (3) in Treasury.

Conversant with BOZ/ ZRA Regulatory reporting requirements.

Conversant with various bank processes, payments & settlement platforms.

Professional Treasury, ACI Financial Markets or Securities Certificate will be an added advantage

DOMESTIC PAYMENTS ASSISTANT COORDINATOR
JOB PURPOSE
To efficiently process all items in masked amount keying, codeline corrections and full amount rekey queues to facilitate timely debiting of customer accounts via Sybrin /Fcubs interface. To efficiently process CTS scanned cheques by branches and file them in an orderly manner for easy retrieval.
Under the supervision of the Codeline, YUFIG & Archival Authorisation Analyst, the following are among the job key responsibilities:-
  • Processing incoming Yufig messages from other banks via fax/email by forwarding to respective Zanaco branches.
  • Processing outgoing Yufig messages received from branches via fax /email to other banks.
  • Filing of incoming and outgoing yufig messages.
  • Preparation of yufig messages for auto unpaid cheques.
  • Resolution of queries logged on sysaid and via emails within Service Level Agreements.
  • Archival of paid Cheque Truncation System (CTS) cheques submitted by branches.
  • Verification of excel listings received from branches for scanned CTS cheques.
  • Proper filing of physical CTS cheques received from branches.
  • Making follow ups with branches were cheques are listed but not delivered.
  • Indexing of box files preparation and delivery of box files to data centre.
  • Any other responsibilities as maybe assigned by Management.

  • External: All local commercial banks, Sybrin, ZECH, BAZ.
  • Internal: All divisions.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

DEVELOPMENT FACILITATOR – MATERNAL NEWBORN CHILD HEALTH
LOCATION: KATETE/KAWAZA
PURPOSE
To facilitate community engagement, community changes, build and maintain local partnerships, build community and partner organization capacity, and strengthen community-led initiatives/innovations to improve and sustain well-being of children and families.
To implement, monitor and report technical program interventions at Area Program level for improved maternal newborn & child health standards.
Program Development and Implementation
  • Facilitate the planning and implementation of maternal, newborn & child health (MNCH) technical programme activities using recommended models, techniques, standards and tools to achieve output targets within scope, time, and budget
  • Communicate World Vision’s identity, mission, vision, values, policies and our approaches to facilitate development processes and to realize well-being of the children in the communities.
  • Facilitate the interpretation and distribution of MNCH context appropriate technical program Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials for effective implementation.
  • Work with other technical program staff at Area Programme to implement MNCH technical programs activities for improved integrated implementation for impact and scale.
  • Raise awareness and facilitate critical analysis of community MNCH issues and opportunities in the technical programme area for improved implementation.
  • Work closely with the community and district partners such as the church to mobilize community for local partnership and ownership, participation in implementation of MNCH activities to achieve sustainability of technical programme interventions.
  • Participate in the district development of MNCH plans with line ministries to ensure WVZL technical nutrition programmes are mainstreamed and aligned.
Local Partnering and Networking
  • Collaborate with local level stakeholders involved in MNCH technical program for effective programme implementation and sustainability.
  • Represent WVZL in various key meetings at district level including Technical Working Group (TWG) for alignment of national and local priorities.
  • Facilitate and support local level technical program related advocacy in MNCH for better service provision/delivery.
Capacity Building
  • Facilitate building capacity of CDW’s and Volunteers on the Technical Programmes for effective roll out and activity implementation for MNCH.
  • Facilitate training in MNCH for community partners and other relevant stakeholders to ensure technical programme activities are effectively implemented.
Programme Effectiveness and Quality Assurance
  • In collaboration with DME specialist, build capacity for CDW’s and volunteers in MNCH data collection, interpretation and utilization.
  • Collect monitoring data with community workers and volunteers in a collaborative and systematic way.
  • Facilitate joint technical monitoring and reporting of the project for effective implementation and quality control in MNCH.
  • Write and timely submit monthly, quarterly and annual reports for improved technical programme decision making in MNCH.
  • Participate in the review of technical program interventions for MNCH improved quality of programming.
  • Work with technical program DME to input data databases and develop information management systems.
  • Participate in documenting and sharing MNCH programme lessons and promising practices with partners and stakeholders.
Qualifications, experiences and skills/competencies
  • Diploma in Nursing and Medicine with minimum 5 years’ experience in relevant field
  • Degree in the relevant field or its equivalent is an added advantage with minimum 2 years’ experience in the relevant field
  • Experience in Program Management in a complex, international organisation preferably NGO context
  • Knowledge and understanding of World Vision operations would be an added advantage,
  • Experience in project design, implementation, monitoring and report writing essential
  • Must have excellent project management, community engagement, mobilisation, facilitating and donor engagement skills
  • Communications, interpersonal, analytical, conflict management, negotiation, and networking skills are highly desired
  • Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment, and must be a mature Christian.
  • Computer literate in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Capacity to function well in a team and contribute effectively to team efforts.
Working Environment / Conditions:
  • Work environment: Office-based 20% : field 80%
  • Travel: international as required.
