STORES OFFICER WANTED AT DANGOTE INDUSTRIES ZAMBIA


The Dangote Group is one of Africa’s leading conglomerates producing diversified products.  Dangote Cement, a subsidiary of the Dangote Group, is the leading producer of cement in Zambia with a modern and advanced integrated cement plant in Ndola, on the Copperbelt.
Dangote Industries (Z) Ltd is looking for action orientated, high performing, and dedicated professional to join the Stores Department.
Position: Stores Officer
Department: Stores
Reports to: Deputy General Manager
Job Summary
Manage receipt and inspection of inbound materials into specialised stores e.g. Mines spares, explosives, diesel, lubricants, PP bags, Consumables etc. availability.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure proper storage of store items in line with safety requirements.
  • Issue stock to user departments in line with company policies.
  • Ensure that all goods received notes and issue vouchers have been raised.
  • Ensure that goods received are matched with the actual invoices from the supplier.
  • Maintain optimal stock levels and advise on stock levels for timely replenishment.
  • Perform monthly and quarterly stock checks
  • Compiles reports on any shortages, losses, obsolete items and expired stocks for the attention of superior
  • Maintain up-to-date records of store items, develop and submit reports of inventory levels.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the DGM – Stores.
Key Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Diploma in Purchasing and Supply / Stores Management or its equivalent.
  • Minimum of Four (4) years’ experience in Stores or related.
  • Must have at least Two (2) years store experience in Mining / Mechanical / Engineering / Cement environment.
Skills and Competencies
  • Good understanding of the cement manufacturing industry trends, challenges, opportunities, regulations, legislation etc.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of the organisation’s product and service offerings.
  • Working knowledge of inventory management terminologies, methodologies and approach
  • Basic knowledge of system based inventory management systems
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and quality
  • Willingness to learn, improve and adapt to changing requirements
  • Possess relevant skills in basic MS Office applications and working knowledge of business Enterprise Resource Planning systems
