Commercial Controller
DEPARTMENT: Marketing
VACANCY: Commercial Controller
LEVEL: Senior Manager
LOCATION: Lusaka
JOB PURPOSE
Provide management with information relevant to aid decision making and steer the company towards being a profitable entity. Understand, analyze and activate revenue drivers and grow the top line in a competitive manner
REPORTING TO THE FINANCE DIRECTOR, THE MAIN REPSONSIBILITIS ARE;
1. Develop the company STRAP and AOP in conjunction with the executive team
  • Build AOP Financials, based on functional and Operational Inputs
  • Monthly/Quarterly Analysis of Variance
  • Prepare 3 /5 year plan as appropriate
2. Assess the health and performance of the business vis-à-vis the AOP
  • Review Weekly revenue outlook vis-à-vis the AOP
  • Review site profitability and track action plans for turnaround from sales, marketing & networks
  • Review profitability impact of proposed pricing plans.
  • Analyze actual results achieved post implementation of new initiatives on PCN, Capex and Opex NFAs.
3. Daily Reporting Process – CWN and Zonal CWN
  • Review and follow up on Daily CWNs and KPI Deck
  • Timely and accurate reporting of CWN daily
  • Issue zonal CWN report
  • Performance analysis highlighting function-wise areas of concerns and improvements
4. MAPA Review Process
  • Review of Finance MAPA and coordination of Zonal MAPA to drive and monitor the delivery of the AOP.
  • Review and signoff of monthly MAPA and other functional MAPA’s
5. Opex / Capex Tracking and Analysis
  • Controlling Opex / Capex approvals and updating functions on their YTD spent status
  • Obtain appropriate approvals for any cost over runs
  • Budgetary Check and evaluation of all Capex investment.
6. Product & segment Profitability analysis
  • Bucket Wise revenue analysis
  • Segment Wise revenue analysis for proactive decision making and customer profiling
  • Pre and post launch promo analysis to Marketing for performance tracking
  • Review product-wise profitability
7. External Benchmarking
  • Issue quarterly competitor analysis
  • Monthly Market share reporting and analysis
  • Validate correctness of reported RMS and CMS number
8. Flash & Forecast process and Drive Planning & forecasting efficiency
  • Coordination of the flash and forecast process with functional heads to have an understating of the expected performance
9. Employee Engagement
  • Develop and motivate team members through structured training and on the job coaching
  • Develop and motivate team members through structured training and on the job coaching
  • Prepare plans to action engagement feedback for team
REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum of a BA in Business Administration, Marketing, Mass Communication or related discipline
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Mass Communication or MBA in Marketing
  • Professional Qualifications in advertising, Marketing & Communication will be an added advantage.
  • 8-10 years of work experience in similar industry / organization;
  • Work experience in advertising agency will be an added advantage.
  • A minimum of 3 years in Management role.
