VACANCIES

CEC is inviting applications from suitably qualified, innovative and dynamic individuals to take up the following position.
Job Purpose
To carry out effective and cost efficient electrical maintenance work on equipment in an assigned substation.
Key Accountabilities
  • Maintain substation and auxiliary electrical equipment to ensure that it is in the right working condition for continued power supply to customers.
  • Undertake repairs on electrical system equipment so as to restore the equipment in the shortest possible time.
  • Carry out equipment installation to satisfy customers’ needs.
  • Carry out cable jointing duties to avoid disruption of power supply.
  • Carry out transformer overhaul and rehabilitation to restore equipment.
  • Ensure that repaired equipment is thoroughly tested for compliance to required service standards.
  • Undertake regular substation equipment inspection to prevent faults.
  • Compile detailed and informative maintenance sheets on time to facilitate good record maintenance.
  • Carry out electrical maintenance activities in the most effective and efficient manner.
  • Undertake and complete given assignment within allocated time frame.
  • Ensure that all Company resources under the section are used solely for Company purposes.
  • Adhere to and uphold good house-keeping rules and regulations. Ensure that maintenance work is carried out in accordance with system and safety regulations to avoid accidents.
  • Undertake any additional tasks and responsibilities as may be assigned, from time to time, in compliance with the Company’s multi-skilling programme.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Full Grade 12 School Certificate
  • Technician Certificate
  • Two (2) years working experience
  • Registered member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ)
