LOCATION:  Lusaka
JOB PURPOSE
To achieve business goals and brand saliency by devising strategies for the Zambia Operation, in line with the overall brand strategy and subsequently plan and implement the same at the country level.
REPORTING TO THE MARKETING DIRECTOR, THE MAIN REPSONSIBILITIS ARE;
1. Optimum utilization of Marketing budget
  • Prioritizing and focusing on key high business impact activities
  • Plan and monitor marketing costs
  • Understanding the business needs of the operation and subsequently ensuring optimum utilization of available financial resources.
  • Ensure that the optimum SOV (Share of Voice) is maintained as the marketing communication budget of the competition is relatively higher than ours
2. Achieve TOMA (Top of Mind Awareness) & ITP (Intention to Purchase) Targets
  • Developing relevant, clear & easy to understand communication that drives consumers to make Airtel their first choice.
  • To identify the key strengths of competition and plan key tactics to get improvement on TOMA
  • Decide on the creative direction for operation/ local communication direction to be given in line with the brand clearly stated guidelines
3. Brand Visibility
  • Facilitate meetings with the Zonal Business Managers and develop a clear Visibility Matrix
  • Direct team to ensure Retail & Outdoor marketing is executed at the ground level
4. Monitor bound & quality delivery by the vendors
  • Effectively direct and review the vendors and agencies performance constantly seeking value addition – through quality and cost
  • Track vendor SLAs and ensure adherence
  • Enforce contract specific sanctions in case of violations
5. Develop new and rural specific initiatives
  • Device and execute innovative programs to reach out to rural customers and augment business
6. Drive all national brand initiatives at the country level.
  • Ensure complete understanding of the key expectations from the brand and align team to this
  • Mobilize regional teams and drive all activities supporting national brand initiatives
  • Recommend available resources for key activities on a month on month basis.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum of a BA in Business Administration, Marketing, Mass Communication or related discipline
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Mass Communication or MBA in Marketing
  • Professional Qualifications in advertising, Marketing & Communication will be an added advantage.
  • 8-10 years of work experience in similar industry / organization;
  • Work experience in advertising agency will be an added advantage.
  • A minimum of 3 years in Management role.
