Chambeshi Water and Sewerage Company Limited, is the water Utility Company based in Northern and Muchinga Provinces of Zambia and in charge of providing Water and Sewerage services to the 12 districts. As a Company, we are the implementing Agency of the National Vision with regard to water and Sanitation in the Urban Towns of Muchinga and Northern Provinces.  Our vision is ‘To be the most effectively managed Utility in Zambia’, by focusing on ensuring that our customers are delighted with the quality of our services.

1. COMMERCIAL MANAGER

Job Purpose

contribute to financial viability and sustainability of the company through effective and efficient billing, revenue collection and customer care.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Develops and implements the company’s commercial policy in order to ensure efficient billing
• Develops collection strategies and programmes to improve collection efficiency
• Identifies opportunities that will lead to expansion of services and revenue
• Investigates and resolves major customer complaints
• Monitors performance of the department against targets and budget and ensures corrective action.
• Acts as focal liaison on commercial issues between customers and ChWSC
• Participates in community meeting with RDCs, Councillors etc in order to explain ChWSC Commercial policies and activities
• Supervises, coaches, motivates, develops and disciplines subordinates; and agrees, monitors and reviews performance of subordinates to ensure that they meet their agreed targets as stated in their performance contracts.
• Performs any other legal duties as may be assigned to him by the Managing Director from time to time.
• Improve billing efficiency to our 95%
• Improve collections efficiency to our 95%
• Implement the commercial policy especially debt management, customer care e.t.c
• Endeavour to collect debt owed by customers
• To ensure reconciliation with the finance department are always up to date.

Qualifications attributes and Experience

• Must be Zambian
• Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or Economics
• MBA will be an added advantage.
• Must be between 38 and 55 years of age.
• Must have minimum of 8 years work experience in a reputable undertaking with 5 years at senior Management level
• Must be a Member of a recognized institution in the respective profession
• Must have a valid driving licence and must be energetic to endure long and rough travels.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Publisher.
• Conversant with Municipal Billing software
• Must be conversant with the operations of credit reference bureau
• Must be self-driven, innovative, creative and achiever with proven record
• The job holder is expected to honest and integrity keeper
