Deposit Sales Specialist - Zambia National Commercial Bank



Zambia National Commercial Bank Plc (Zanaco) is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the following job aimed at contributing to the Bank’s strategic vision, in the Commercial Division under the Retail Banking Department at Head Office:-
DEPOSIT SALES SPECIALIST (X1)
JOB PURPOSE
Primarily accountable for executing balance sheet performance on liabilities, providing key enablers to the frontlines success in driving individual deposit product sales. Owns overall Profit & Loss (P&L) for all retail deposit products and drives initiatives required to achieve deposits product marketing and sales strategy.
Under the supervision of the Head Retail Product Sales, the following are among the Job Key Responsibilities:-
  • To develop and execute the deposit product sales strategy
  • To enable deposit product sales through staff banking proposition
  • To drive the marketing strategy complimenting all deposit product sales
  • To nurture 3rd party partnerships that drive our deposit product dominance
  • To Implement initiatives to stem balance sheet leakages, e.g., anti-attrition unit
  • To drive product utilization across all client segments
  • To actively manage retail balance sheet to ensure optimization of returns
  • To deliver on retail products performance standards covering liabilities
  • To ensure delivery of optimal product mix and risk weighted returns
  • To expand market share through product sales volumes
  • To set performance targets for the year i.e. number of funded counts and sales implementation
  • To monitor individual product profitability
  • To conduct competitor analysis
  • To conduct weekly sales drills – budget vs. weekly performance
  • To monitor account through put per product – product contribution to portfolio
  • To propose and implement sales interventions per cluster, product mix and uptake
  • To perform lead role for all retail sales promotions, events and leads
  • To come up with tactical approaches to assist the sales team to be ahead of targets
  • To ensure hands on weekly conversations with sales leads – leading and lagging indicators
  • To achieve the set targets in order to maximize the retail banking profitability
  • To provide weekly accounts sales dashboards/trends and highlights to Head Retail Banking
  • To ensure customer retention through cross selling, sales promotions, out-marketing calls, presentations and conversion of wholesale retail opportunities i.e. salary accounts, teachers accounts, pensions
  • To ensure adherence to customer complaints resolution and escalation in a timely and effective manner
  • To use voice of frontline to address pain points
  • To conduct training for customer facing staff e.g. product knowledge, sales, complaints handling, process, operations, controls etc.
  • To agree targets with team members, monitor performance and performance reviews for team members as per stipulated guidelines.
INTERNAL/EXTERNAL CONTACT
  • External: Local Regulators on statutory matters
  • Internal: All Divisions
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Grade 12 Credit or above mandatory in Mathematics and English and any other three subjects
  • University Degree in relevant subject
  • Diploma in Banking or Finance will be an added advantage
  • At least three (3) years banking management experience
  • Understanding of Retail Banking products and account opening, KYC Requirements.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation e.g. KYC, Anti - Money laundering, Banking code.
  • Understanding of people policies and processes
  • Demonstrated complaint handling and skills certifications
