DRIVER , National Food and Nutrition Commission


The National Food and Nutrition Commission (NFNC) is a statutory body established under an Act of Parliament NO.41 of 1967, CAP 308. It is a promotional and advisory to the government on matters concerning food and nutrition.
The Institution seeks to recruit a suitably qualified, experienced and competent individual to be based in Lusaka for the position of Driver.
Job Description
Under the direct supervision of the Transport Officer and overall guidance by the Administration Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for driving Commission vehicles, maintaining, checking the needs and securing the safety of the vehicles for mobility of staff, materials and equipment as required.
KEY RESULTS PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES (MAIN DUTIES)
1. Driving of the vehicle: Driving the vehicles allocated carefully so as to ensure the safety and timely movements of staff and materials in order to facilitate smooth operations of the Commission.
2. Inspection of fitness of vehicles: Undertakes the regular inspections of the vehicles worthiness so as to avoid road traffic accidents and unnecessary breakdown.
3. Completion of log book: Completes the log books and seeks authorization promptly for any trips outside the office.
4. Accident reports: Reports timely the occurrence of any incident that results in damage to the vehicle and/or harm to humans in order to facilitate prompt remedial actions.
5. Cleaning: Cleans regularly allocated vehicles in order to make them pleasant and in serviceable condition.
6. General: To do any other work as may be assigned by the supervisor.
KNOWLEDGE. SKILLS REQUIREMENTS AND EXPEREINCE
(a) Minimum primary/secondary education: Grade 12
(b) Minimum vocational/professional qualification: Valid driving license, Class B
(c) Minimum relevant pre-job experience: 3 years
(d) Communication Skills
(i) Written skills: Ability to write simple reports
(ii) Oral skills: Able to express oneself in English
(e) Other skills/attributes:
