INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (IT) DIRECTOR


Our client, is an organisation that has been established under the laws of Zambia as a company limited by guarantee, designated by the Government of the Republic of Zambia (GRZ) as the Accountable Entity to implement the US$355 million Lusaka Water Supply, Sanitation and Drainage Project (LWSSD) funded by the United States of America, acting through the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC). The Compact agreement between MCC and GRZ was signed on May 10, 2012.
Key Responsibilities: 
Duties and responsibilities will include the development of the MIS annual budget and work plans; formulation and implementation of the organization’s MIS strategies, IT infrastructure, policies, guidelines and controls. The applicant will also be required to manage the website and ensure the delivery of support services is in line with service level agreements. The applicant will ensure integrity of all computerized and security systems including developing business continuity, data back up and disaster recovery and training plans. The applicant will also manage, motivate and develop the MIS team.
  • The applicant should have at least a University degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or Information Technology or other related field.
  • A Master’s degree in IT or an MBA will be an added advantage.
  • Work experience of at least ten (10) years, in design, development, implementation and maintenance of computer information systems, including websites, LAN and WAN design and management, and project management is required. Working Knowledge of SAP is a must.
  • The applicant should have effective analytical skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • The applicant should be able to work with minimum supervision and also as part of a team.
