Job Title: Risk and Compliance Manager

The Role:

• Develop key risk indicators, identify risks related to the business and communicate them throughout the company.
• Analyze the company’s market position and running figures through complex modeling techniques to find value at risk (VAR) measurements.
• Participate in the generation of management strategies, based on risk and profitability models to support the company in the achievement of its objective.
• Use segmentation tools based on profitability and risk, protect the organization’s assets and public image as well as conduct research to assess the severity of risk.
• Ensure that risk areas are properly dealt with to acceptable levels through liaising with the different -Heads of department and Train staff on risk measures for the benefit of the staff in their daily scope of work.
• Control  risk  related  losses  through  the  proper  allocation  of  resources  using segmentation tools to guide proactive collection efforts.
• Monitoring the implementation of the risk management efforts.
• Consolidate all risk and compliance matters and submit consolidated reports
• Take control of Corporate Governance, regulatory compliance and audit matters pertaining to the operations of VFZ

Minimum qualification requirements and competencies:

• A Bachelors degree in Banking and Finance, Business Administration, Statistics, Risk or any other related discipline from a recognized university.
• Two (2) years experience in risk management gained from a financial institution.
• Good working knowledge of MS Office applications.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
• Ability to transfer knowledge and provide guidance to others.
• Ability to work long hours without supervision.
• Knowledge of Risk analysis systems is an added advantage.
• Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
