LOCAL INTEGRATION PROJECT SUPPORT OFFICER , Mayukwayukwa, Kaoma


Job Title: Local Integration Project Support Officer
Location: Mayukwayukwa, Kaoma
Grade: 6
Reporting to: District Programme Coordinator
Manages: CDF
Liaises with: Conservation Agriculture (CA) Coordinator, PM&E Support officer, Gender officer, Admin Assistant and others as appropriate
Job purpose:
To coordinate the implementation of the local integration project activities in Mayukwayukwa by developing work plans, implementing and fine-tuning programme activities while working closely with relevant stakeholders in the project area. 
Main duties & Responsibilities:
Overall Project implementation
  • Develop work plans for Local Integration project activities in line with the project document and lead the execution of the work plans.
  • Closely monitor the work of CDF in terms of the implementation of activities both at community and school level, and provide continuous  technical support
  • Organise training for targeted community members, teachers, and students in line with the programme document.
  • Oversees beneficiary targeting for different project activities, and make sure agreed criteria are used for targeting.
  • Carry out regular field visits to monitor the performance of activities at community and school levels and provide on the job technical support.
  • Report monthly to DPC on activities, challenges, lessons learnt, best practices, case studies, etc.
  • Ensure that cross cutting themes (issue of HIV and AIDS and Gender) are mainstreamed across different project activities and liaison with gender officer for technical support.
Networking
  • Coordinate with district relevant government and non-governmental bodies to ensure collaboration between stakeholders for effective implementation of the project.
  • Work closely with the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock staff both at district and camp levels to ensure their involvement in the project implementation during beneficiary selection, training, and follow up.
  • Regularly attend meetings with stakeholders including UNHCR, Caritas, World Vision, and other agencies working on the local integration programme to ensure synergy between the different interventions.
Other tasks and responsibilities:
  • To adhere to and support the implementation of the Concern staff code of conduct and Programme Participant Protection Policy as described in the National Staff HR Manual
  • Other tasks as directed by the line manager.
Qualifications and Experience required:
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, rural development or related field
Skills, knowledge, and experience:
  • A minimum of 3 years field experience working with small scale farmers in one or more of the following areas; Conservation agriculture; Agroforestry; Sustainable agriculture; Organic farming and Permaculture.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively utilise MS-Office tools for reporting, data analysis, and presentations.
Special skills, aptitude, or Personality Requirements:
Essential:
  • Commitment to work in remote location with a minimum service
  • Good facilitation skill
  • Good understanding of rural development programme
  • Good understanding of gender/equality issues,
  • Good analytical skills and English language documentation and reporting skills.
Desirable:
  • Ability to ride a motorcycle, with valid licence.
