Clinical Officers (11 positions: Lusaka, Southern, Central, Copperbelt and North Western Provinces)

AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) is a locally registered not-for-profit NGO registered in Zambia. AHF collaborates with the Zambian government and other institutions to provide technical assistance to these key stakeholders to establish sustainable and replicable models for the delivery of quality and comprehensive HIV/AIDS treatment, care and support, HIV Counselling, and Testing. Prevention and Psycho-soci services to people living with HIV/AIDS
To meet the those needs, the Progam wishes to recruit dynamic, skilled, committed, self-driven and results orientated individuals.
Job Title: Clinical Officers (11 positions: Lusaka, Southern, Central, Copperbelt and North Western Provinces)
Job Summary: Provide clinical care to both pediatric and adult clients.
Core/Essential duties & responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Examine, diagnose and treat diseases of infants, children and adults. Determine need for Xray examinations and clinical laboratory test and interpret findings and test results.
  • Offer appropriate ART treatment and care as per latest Zambia Consolidated guidelines
  • Assists counselors with disclosure of HIV status to pediatric clients
  • Ensure proper record keeping on ART, Pre-ART OLS and produce reports in a timely manner
  • Advises patients concerning diet, hygiene and methods for prevention of disease
  • Work together with nursing staff and front office staff to accommodate urgent care to walk in patients.
Qualifications, Education and Experience
  • Diploma in Clinical Services
  • 2-3 years minimum experience in HIV treatment and care
  • Certification in adult and pediatric ART and OI management
  • Knowledge of clinical protocols and procedures in the management of HIV related diseases
  • Registration with HPCZ with a valid practicing license
  • Retired but energetic individuals are encouraged to apply
