OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME
Provide lead technical support to the Ministry of Health , Community Development Mother and Child Health and relevant partners in an effort to fight HIV/AIDS lead and coordinate the health sector response to the HIV pandemic, focusing on the highest impact interventions that can be delivered through health and related community-based services.
To take the lead on the priority areas of HIV treatment and care, and HIV/tuberculosis co-infection , and jointly coordinate with other partners the work on prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV.
To enhance action to contribute to the implementation of the Global health sector strategy on HIV for 2011-2015 .
Wider strengthening of Health systems, and strengthening partnership/collaboration among the different players­ government , partners and civil societies
