HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGER , The University of Lusaka


The University of Lusaka s seeking to recruit a qualified person for the position of Human Resource Manager. The position incumbent will be responsible for providing overall direction of human resources operations and support across all employee types including faculty and non-faculty employees. This includes interpretation of University HR policies, providing consultation and advice on HR issues and concerns.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
  • Oversee review and approval of faculty and staff recruitment process and counselling managers on candidate selection
  • Provide management with monthly Human Resource reports.
  • Advice management on developing organizational structures that enhance effectiveness and reduce administrative costs.
  • Partnering with the faculties and heads of departments on organization design and development
  • Ensures planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees; scheduling management conferences with employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; counselling employees arid supervisors
  • Maintains management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures
  • The position will supervise subordinate human resources staff and be responsible for assuring that the unit’s personnel actions
  • Oversee and manage employee separations within the University and coordinate apphcable employee exit (off boarding) activities

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Applicants should be holders of a Bachelor of Arts Degree, in either Human Resource Management, Business Administration or Public Administration.
  • A master in any related field will be an added an advantage
  • A minimum five (5) or more years’ experience in a similar capacity will be an added advantage.
  • Member of the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management.
