SENIOR DISTRICT COORDINATOR

Job Title: Sr. District Coordinator (SDC)

Background:

Based in Washington D.C., ACDI/VOCA is a nonprofit international development organization that delivers technical and management assistance in agri-business, financial services, enterprise development, community development and food security in order to promote broad-based economic growth and vibrant civil society. ACDI/VOCA currently has approximately 98 projects in 40 countries and revenues of $124 million. ACDI/VOCA is seeking to recruit the position of SDC to be based in the Lusaka office. Summary: The SDC will provide key management support for Lusaka with responsibility for overseeing all aspects of technical and administrative activities in the district. Background in horticultural production and marketing is a requirement.
Specific Responsibilities:
Specific responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
  • Ensure compliance with all administrative and financial matters related to district operations
  • Supervise the district team and act as a liaison for support from the technical team in Chipata
  • Work closely with input companies, buyers and MFIs to facilitate investments in improved horticultural production at the farm level
  • Coordinate closely with other development efforts
  • Ensure linkages to ZNFU and proper business registration for all farmers
  • Constant interaction with rest of the team to ensure delivery of standardized approaches across the project areas
  • Fulfill all obligations towards reporting, management of equipment, funds and resources, professional behavior, and project representation as outlined in the field procurement manual; personal/HR policy manual; and communication manual.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants for this position should possess the following minimum qualifications:
  • University Degree or Diploma in Horticulture or Agriculture, Business/Finance
  • Experience working with private sector in horticulture area – at least two years
  • Proficiency in SharePoint, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software.
  • Pleasant personality with good teamwork and interpersonal skills with an ability to take initiative and work in teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal English skills.
  • Must be able to keep matters confidential when called upon.
  • Experience working with an international organization preferably with a USAID-funded project and knowledge of USAID rules & regulations
