Proposal Objective:
SI is preparing a proposal for an upcoming USAID-funded monitoring and evaluation activity in Zambia focused on the health sector. The purpose of the activity is to provide the USAID/Zambia Health Office, implementing partners, local partners, and the Government of Zambia stakeholders with improved data systems and utilization.
Position Description:
SI is seeking a Human Resources (HR) Assistant to support this program. The HR Assistant will be responsible for onboarding field office staff and supporting the Finance and Administration Manager. The HR Assistant will work closely with field office staff in Zambia and with SI HQ Program Staff to ensure compliance with both Zambian labor standards and SI HR procedures. This position will be full time and based in Zambia.
**Please note: This is a local position. Only candidates with Zambian citizenship will be considered.
Responsibilities:
· Must understand Zambian labor law and ensure employee contracts are allowable within regulations.
· Support the recruitment of local M&E professionals in Zambia for short-term and long-term consultancies.
· Ensure that payroll and tax withholdings calculations are properly calculated and that taxes are paid on a timely basis.
· Prepare new hire documentation and provide onboarding orientation for staff.
· Ensure staff full understanding of SI Human Resources policies and procedures as codified in the Human Resources manual.
· Own and keep Human Resources and Ethics manuals up-to-date, ensure that policies are enforced.
· Maintain complete staff records and process required paperwork.
Qualifications:
· Associates or Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or other related field required.
· Minimum three years of experience in a related field required.
· Demonstrated ability to understand and implement pertinent company and client policies and procedures clearly and accurately.
· Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervising personnel, co-workers, business professionals, and the general public.
· Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment and communicate effectively orally and in writing
