CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER , United Bank for Africa Zambia Ltd


Job Objective
To plan, direct and oversee the strategies and activities of the Operations, ICT, E Banking Support  and Corporate Services  units within the country subsidiary. Providing leadership and supervision to the heads of these units.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Supervise the formulation / implementation of the policies, procedures and controls for the units in the country subsidiary that would ensure alignment of these units to the predetermined corporate objectives of the Group. Also make recommendations on required policy changes due to peculiarities within the resident country to  Group COO.
  • Directs the supervisors who co-ordinate the activities of these units for effective and efficient service delivery.
  • Supervise and ensure an efficient turn around time is achieved by instituting the required monitoring systems for consistent optimum service delivery
  • Ensure adequate allocation of personnel and material resources to the departments/units for effective processing
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the country MD and COO UBA Group
Requirements
  • Relevant first degree graduating with credit or better
  • MBA, or other professional qualification will be an added advantage
  • At least 11 years post qualification banking experience with 5 years in a management position and a sound knowledge of banking operations,  ICT,  and management of E Banking platforms
  • Knowledge of Banking Operations (Domestic & International Operations)
  • Negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of project management process
