CLIMATE CHANGE TRAINING SPECIALIST


Project: Consulting Services for the Development of Climate Resilient Infrastructure Standards and Codes for the Transport Sector in Zambia
Position: National Climate Change Training Specialist
(i) Objective/Purpose of the Assignment:
Support (in absence of international specialist, coordinate) the training component with regard to training needs assessments, developing and implementing training module, curriculum development for the road transport sector and academia, twinning program; and training on revised guidelines and tools for transport design and planning (Activity 2).
(ii) Skills required:
The specialists will have:
  • Minimum a Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, social science, education or a related discipline;
  • At least 5 years professional experience in carrying out training needs assessments for the road transport sector;
  • A good understanding of climate change and sustainable development issues;
  • A sound understanding and experience of approaches, processes, procedures and policies for integrating climate change adaptation and resilience into the curriculum for higher learning institutions; and
  • Good written and spoken communication skills (in English).
Duration: 36 months
