CLIMATE CHANGE ECONOMIST


Project: Consulting Services for the Development of Climate Resilient Infrastructure Standards and Codes for the Transport Sector in Zambia
Position: National Climate Change Economist
(i) Objective/Purpose of the Assignment:
Support an economic evaluation of road infrastructure damage due to past exposure to climate change (Activity 1) and cost-benefit analysis or a cost-effectiveness analysis of the various technically feasible adaptation measures which may be implemented to climate-proof the transport infrastructure (Activity 4).
(ii) Skills Required:
The specialist should have:
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in economics, environmental/resource economics, or relevant discipline;
  • At least 5 years’ experience in conducting cost-benefit analysis;
  • At least 5 years’ experience of performing economic evaluation of road infrastructure damages following disasters; and
  • Good written and spoken communication skills (in English).
Duration: 8 months
