NATIONAL VULNERABILITY AND ENVIRONMENT SPECIALIST


Project: Consulting Services for the Development of Climate Resilient Infrastructure Standards and Codes for the Transport Sector in Zambia
Position: National Vulnerability and Environment Specialist
(i) Objective/Purpose of the Assignment:
To support (in absence of international specialist, coordinate) the Vulnerability Assessment Component for the Zambia Road Sector Infrastructure, including the development of Vulnerability Mapping (Activity 1). Provide input to and develop and deliver related training modules (Activity 2).
(ii) Skills Required:
The specialist should have:
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Management or other related field;
  • At least 5 years’ experience in assignments of a similar nature of carrying out vulnerability assessment of infrastructure to climate change impacts;
  • Sound expertise on climate change research relevant to the road transport sector;
  • Familiarity with climate models and their application;
  • Experience from delivery of training; and
  • Good written and spoken communication skills (in English).
Duration of Assignment: 18 months
