FINANCE OFFICER , Plan International Zambia

Working in Zambia since 1996, Plan International Zambia’s development and capacity building programmes focus primarily on education, health and sanitation, economic empowerment, and child protection and participation. Plan’s work is guided by our Child-Centered Community Development (CCCD) approach. Plan International Zambia has programme units in Central, Luapula, and Eastern provinces, including  in Lusaka, where the Country Office is located. 
Plan International Zambia is looking for innovative, motivated self starter to  fill the following positions :
  1. Finance Officer (Luapula) 1 position ( 3 Year Contract)(Immediate Vacancy)
Reporting to the Finance and Administration Coordinator, the job purpose is to provide effective financial and accounting support in the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of projects and ensure that Plan International Luapula Program Unit  finance records are properly maintained.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following;
  • Processing payments for Luapula Program Unit based on accurately coded and approved payment packages
  • Entering transactions in SAP
  • Preparation of cash flow forecast
  • Preparation of year end schedules
  • Updating all staff advance payments for Luapula Program Unit staff and suppliers in the register
  • Preparation of advance reconciliations
  • Preparation of Finance and Administration Project Outlines
  • Support preparation of consolidated Country financial reports.
Candidates will need to demonstrate possession of:
  • A diploma in accounts or ZICA Technician
  • Excellent financial management skills
  • At least two years proven experience in a similar capacity
  • High knowledge and capability in computer information programs
  • Experience in working for development NGOs will be an added advantage
Preferred Experience:
  • Ability to translate accounting information into a form suitable for digestion by various information users.
  • Good experience and  understanding of  information systems
