Expanded Church Response (ECR) is a faith-based organization implementing OVC, GBV, HIV/AIDS, and other programs to mitigate human suffering and bring transformational development.
ECR has implemented programs funded by USAID, European Union, UNICEF, and Global Fund either directly or through a range of highly regarded local and international organizations. DISTRICT COORDINATOR (1) KITWE
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP – PROVINCIAL COORDINATOR
Purpose Of The Position
The District Coordinator will be responsible for the overall coordination of the project in the ZAMFAM District and will provide support to CBOs and project team in planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting. The position will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination of the project at district level, ensuring smooth implementation of activities and foster coordination and linkages among CBOs, public and private structures and other stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Project Management, Planning and Implementation:
  • To coordinate activities of all CBOs in the district
  • Assist the PC and other officers to build capacity and provide technical support to CBOs in the district
  • Work closely with the PC to Facilitate the provision of both material and technical support to CBOs
  • To facilitate training activities as required at district level
  • Support CBOs to draw community activity plans ensuring that all project core areas (youth, under 5, OVC, ES) are properly and carefully planned for
  • Ensure that CBO implement project activities in line with developed community activity plans, and according to the project’s quality framework
  • Regularly monitor progress at district level and provide timely feedback to PC and other staff to ensure prompt and appropriate remedial measures where required
  • Support CBOs to gather referral information at district level and community level and incorporate that with the provincial and national level information to feed into job aids for community volunteers and for purposes of referrals and linkages with public/private structures and other stakeholders
  • Provide support in various aspects of project implementation to CBOs
Staff Supervision & Office Management
  • Attend to the day-to-day running of the district office
  • Provide direct supervision to the Driver and Office Assistant????
  • Ensure that staff account for their time on the project by completing and submitting monthly timesheets/Labour Distribution Reports (LDRs) in a timely manner
  • Ensure that all ECR equipment and assets are secure, properly labelled and entered in the Asset/Inventory Register
Coordination, Communication and Representation
  • Facilitate smooth flow of information/communication between CBOs and the project team
  • Represent ECR in various district stakeholder OVC forums in liaison with the PC
  • Establish networks and linkages with the key actors in the district for coordination, linkages/referrals, learning and sharing
  • Mobilise and support CBOs to take part in community/district level events such as commemoration of national and international days and forums such as DATF, DDCC meetings as a way of promoting coordination with relevant GRZ departments and other stakeholders for the smooth implementation of the project.
    Monitoring, Documentation and Reporting:
  • Participate in monitoring and evaluation activities at district level such as baseline survey, client verifications exercises, mid-point and end of project evaluations
  • Undertake regular visits to CBOs to ensure community volunteers utilise developed and approved tools to capture data, and provide on-site checks on tools before data entry
  • Maintain an active hard copy and electronic filing systems with regular updates and checks to ensure integrity and continuity of data
  • Ensure timely preparation of monthly progress updates.
  • Ensure that CBOs provide regular and timely reports (monthly, quarterly and annual)
  • Work closely with the M&E Specialist and other project staff to identify and document success stories, lessons of sound practice to highlighting the relevance of project interventions, and to promote cross learning among various partners/stakeholders
  • Support the ECR Communication Team in obtaining and documenting new articles, inputs to newsletters, websites etc.
OTHER
  • Attend and participate in weekly devotional meetings.
Preferred:
  • Degree in any related field
  • At least a certificate in project management
Required:
  • Diploma in any related field.
  • At least three years of experience in related work
  • Good communicator in local languages in Zambia Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

  • Strong teamwork skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft word and Microsoft excel.
