SPONSORSHIP COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR

Working in Zambia since 1996, Plan International Zambia’s development and capacity building programmes focus primarily on Education, Health, Water and Sanitation, Economic Security and Youth Empowerment, including Child Protection and Participation. Plan International Zambia has programme units in; Central, Luapula, and Eastern Provinces including in Lusaka, where the Country Office is located.
We are looking for an experienced, innovative, motivated, self-starter individuals to fill the following vacancy:
Sponsorship Communications Coordinator – Central Kabwe (1)
Position Description
The Sponsorship Communications Coordinator (SCC) reports to the Programme Unit Manager and manages all activities within the Sponsorship Unit at the Programme Unit (PU) level and ensures that all processing of communications meet or exceed quality standards outlined in the Sponsorship Book and organizational guidelines.
Key areas of responsibility include:
  • Scheduling of all sponsorship communications in the corporate systems
  • Coordinating the processing of quality sponsorship communication.
  • Ensuring that all sponsored children’s cancellations are verified in the field and validated.
  • Ensuring that all sponsored children records and other related documents are properly stored, managed and information access is as per data management policy.
  • Maintain a zero backlog in sponsorship communication production.
  • Provide to-do-lists to community based structures for collection of sponsorship communications
  • Ensure Sponsor visits are well coordinated and reported and are in accordance with the child protection policy standards and practices.
  • Educating sponsored child families and communities on sponsor visit guidelines.
  • Ensuring community based organisations are actively involved in the community managed sponsorship processes.
  • Promoting children’s participation in the development of sponsorship communications and area documents.
  • Supervision of Sponsorship Communication Officers and ensuring optimum utilisation of resources.
  • Participating in the planning, monitoring and evaluation of child sponsorship communications and area documents at PU level.
  • Facilitating the identification of new programme areas for child affiliation as per established procedures.
  • Promoting the integration of sponsorship with other sectors.
  • Establish partnerships with various stakeholders to increase local resource mobilisation and long term sustainability.
Individual Specifications:
  • Degree in Development Studies or related discipline
  • 2- 4 years experience in NGO sector; willingness to work with children and communities; and managing child-related programmes and projects would be an added advantage
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and lead others including promoting high performance
  • Communicates effectively and exhibits initiative and innovation
  • Possesses coaching, training, and facilitation skills
  • Time management, administrative, and organisational skills
