Head of Finance and Operations

Mary’s Meals International is a fast-growing international charity, currently providing over one million hungry and impoverished children in 12 countries with a daily school meal. Mary’s Meals International is the central organisation that co-ordinates, supports and leads the global Mary’s Meals movement, under the direction of the founder and Chief Executive.
Head of Finance and OperationsThis is a new role, located in Chipata, Eastern Province and is part of Mary’s Meals International Global Programmes team. The post holder will support the Country Representative, collaborating with colleagues in the UK programmes team in finance and operations. You will be able to support the strategic planning and organisational development in Zambia and be responsible for developing, setting and managing agreed budgets for the operations team. A hands-on and participative manager and coach who will lead and develop an internal team to support the following areas: Finance, logistics, warehousing, security, procurement, transport, property management, human resources, ITC, engineering and administration.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of a BA/BSC in Accounting/Finance and practical professional experience in the areas of accounting, operations management, supply chain management, procurement
  • Human resource management and membership with the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA)
  • Experience of managing staff, the skill to inspire confidence in others within the charity and external charities
  • Self-motivated, pro-active, flexible, a team player
