Project Manager

Akros is hiring a short-term project manager to support malaria elimination operations in Southern Province. The work will primarily focus on piloting new surveillance strategies to support elimination activities as well as supervising and managing the logistics of ongoing malaria elimination activities.

General Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the malaria elimination activities in Southern Province
• Supervise surveillance officers
• Pilot the shift from community health post aggregate malaria incidence to village-level aggregate malaria incidence in the field and with DHIS2
• Pilot the capture of community-level ITN coverage at village-level into DHIS2
• Liaise with district and provincial Ministry of Health (MOH) and Ministry of
• Community Development, Maternal and Child Health (MOCDMCH) personnel
• Assist with other programs on an as-needed basis

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in an appropriate field (Essential)
• Minimum 5 years project management experience in the developing world (Essential)
• Expertise in DHIS2 (Essential)
• Experience with MOH and MCDMCH staff (Desirable)

Personal Qualities

• Ability to plan and manage a team of individuals
• Excellent writing, computer, management and organizational skills
• Ability to keep records, with an attention to detail
