Director, Finance and Administration

The Technical Education, Vocational and Entrepreneurships Training Authority (TEVETA) is a body corporate established under the Technical Education, Vocation and Entrepreneurship Training (TEVET) Act No. 13 of 1998 and the TEVET (Amendment) Act No. 11 of 2005.
TEVETA was established to regulate, monitor and co-ordinate Technical Education, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training in consultation with industry, employers, workers and other stakeholders.
TEVETA wishes to recruit qualified and experienced Zambians to fill the following vacant position.
Director – Finance and Administration
Overall purpose of the jobReporting to the Director General, you will provide strategic direction to the mobilization and coordination of the Authority’s finance, human and technological resources required for the effective and efficient running of the Authority, ensuring sustainability, service provider statutory fee payment compliance, proper utilization and accountability of all resources to support the TEVET
Duties and responsibilities will include:
  1. Ensure regulatory fee payment compliance by TEVET service providers
  2. Advises management , the Board and Government on TEVET financing policy related issues
  3. Prepares and maintains Financial accountants and reports in line with relevant policies and laws
  4. Supervises the operations of the Finance and Administration Division;
  5. Coordinates and leads the annual external audit process
  6. Coordinates leads the annual budgeting and planning process
Minimum job requirements
Knowledge of:
  1. Pastel and Microsoft Excel
  2. The complexity of issues relating TEVET Financing
  3. Public budget management practices
  4. Human Resources Management
Ability to:
  1. Proficiently use PASTEL and Microsoft Excel
  2. Communicating and solve problems
  3. Be creative in finding cost savings
  4. Organize, set priorities and manage multiple tasks
  5. Manager inter-personal relationship
Should Possess
  1. A degree in Accountancy
  2. A full professional accounting qualification e.g. ACCA, CIMA, ZICA
  3. Membership of the Zambian Institute of Chartered Accountants

Specialist – Information Technology

Specialist – Information Technology
Reporting to: The Manager– Information Technology
Overall purpose of the job
He/she will plan and administer the local area network (LAN), related hardware, software and databases, performing various tasks the Authority’s and user requirements are met.
Duties and responsibilities;
  • Evaluates and resolves user problems, identifying and obtaining appropriate resources for the resolution of problem
  • Evaluates needs for new and revised systems; identifies possible improvements in computer systems, makes recommendations for purchase of the new information systems hardware and software
  • Administers the Local Area Network; establishing and implementing procedures for back up data storage and maintaining efficient operation of the LAN
  • Establishes and maintains Internet and Intranet web sites and web pages; providing technical support in creating contents areas;
Minimum Job Requirements
Knowledge of
  • Information technology systems, principles and technique
  • Windows networking operating systems, configuration and commands, and network protocolsWindow desktop operating systems and applications
  • Local area networks and related systems, hardware and software installation and configuration
  • How to maintain and configure servers
  • Data and systems security systems, backup, disaster recovering and related processes
Ability to:
  • Troubleshoot, analyse and resolve problems
  • Document technical
Should possess:
  • A BSc in Information Technology
  • Microsoft Engineer Certification
  • Three years’ post qualification experience which includes windows 2000, 2003, 2007 and network operating systems
