Management Trainees will be required to undergo an intensive Management Development preparation for the future management roles in the organization based on performance
Main Duties
Gain knowledge, skills and experience required in order to serve as reservoir for future management responsibilities
Understand, perform duties of several Divisions/Departments
Set management Development Objectives/Goals with Management taxation issues as well as management development
Participate in the on-going monitoring and review of the progress of one's performance with key trainers and Senior Management
Observe experienced staff and gain knowledge about procedures, methods and standards that are required for performing ones duties in ZRA
Participate in the exercise/job on training assigned
Prepare own report in line with formal given by Management to facilitate Management's assignments of the Trainee

Data Entry Operator
Reporting directly to Assistant Inspector, the job holder will be responsible for providing data entry and other administrative work to officers so that they operate efficiently and effectively as they work towards meeting the business objectives of the station
Duties
  • Enters and updates information in automated systems/templates, develops routine spread sheets and databases, utilizes various software packages in performance duties
  • Compiles and summarizes data or reports from a variety of sources in accordance with specific instructions and procedures
  • Reviews documents for accuracy, completeness and compliance
  • Distribute output appropriately, ensuring the timely return of data to the proper users
  • Participates in identifying and evaluating workflow problems
  • Secures password to ensure security and integrity of computer
  • Captures, confirms and assigns accounts to all registration applications
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with fellow employees, supervisors and all system users
  • Ensures strict adherence to confidentiality when handling reports

Assistant Customs Officer Job at Zambia Revenue Authority

In Line with our corporate priorities aimed at ensuring maximization of revenue collection and increased tax compliance on one hand and the need to effectively manage the numerous challenges and opportunities in the fast changing business environment on the other, we are seeking highly motivated, result oriented and well-qualified and experienced professional to fill the following vacancies under Customs Services Division.

Assistant Customs Officer – Grade ZRA08 (5)
Reporting directly to the Customs Officer, you will be responsible for collecting and receipting revenue, manning the front desk, conducting inspections (scanning and/or physical), conducting patrols and other enforcement activities, and disseminating information to the general public and other duties as may be directed by the supervisor or station manager.

Main Duties/Accountability
– Undertake inspections and report on outcomes
– Ensure that the border is adequately patrolled
– Update superiors on smuggling activities and investigations
– Collect and account for all revenue
– Maintain records of enforcement activities
– Maintain all necessary registers
– Complete periodical returns
– Conduct physical inspections as directed by superiors
– Ensure control of imports and exports of prohibited and restricted goods in accordance with the provisions of the law
Requirements
– Grade 12 School certificate with five credits including Maths and English
– Diploma in any field from a recognized college/university
– Should not be more than 30 years old by 31st December 2015
