Stores Controller x1

Position Location: Chilanga

Overall Job Purpose

To manage the Plant stores in accordance with best practice, respecting LafargeHolcim Group policies and procedures, assisting the good custodianship of all materials in the stores with respect to quantity and condition, while respecting all relevant safety rules and regulations in force.

Main Activities/Responsibilities:

Ensure effective management of production materials.
Manage the warehouse function and organization, ensuring that activities are carried out efficiently.
Ensure proper storage of and access to all items in the warehouse and associated locations (yards, sub-stores, bulk storage tank) at all times respecting Lafarge Group safety standards and regulations.
Report against an appropriate set of performance indicators.
Develop departmental skills and competency levels using various methods (training, coaching, staff rotation).
Manage and maintain the item location file in the system.
Receive materials and ensure that they are fully meting the required specifications as set out in purchase orders / agreements, arranging for inspection as necessary.
Provide separate physical and logical storage areas for materials in dispute (quality, late delivery, substitution).
Create and manage an “Emergency Stores Requisitioning” procedure for materials issued and updating of the system at the earliest opportunity (normally the following business hour).
Receive surplus materials back into the warehouse verifying that they are still suitable for future use.
Identity damaged materials and store separately pending a decision on repair.
Identify and advise Management on obsolete stock and damaged stocks.
Manage and maintain a perpetual count system ensuring that all items are physically verified.
Carry out audits to detect deviations and make corrective actions
Run the stock reorder purchase request reporting the system and recommend adjustments where necessary.
Ensure that reporting on inventory activities, if required, is completed and submitted to the appropriate parties on time.
Item Master file management from introduction of items codes, linking of assets to spares.
Effectively manage the interfaces with end-users.
Ensure effective management and implementation of Stores Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Minimum Qualifications and Experience/Skills

Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management or in any relevant field, Graduate Diploma in CIPS.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in stores administration at a supervisory level.
Good appreciation of stock management systems.
Basic knowledge of mechanical / Electrical Components and spares.
Knowledge of safety rules and regulations.
Good people management skills.
Negotiation skills.
