EXPORT SERVICES MANAGER , Zambia Sugar Plc


Zambia Sugar Plc, a large agro-industry which is part of Illovo Sugar Ltd, is the leading sugar producer in Zambia. Its main activities are the growing of sugarcane, the production and marketing of sugar and other sugar downstream products. The Company has a permanent employee base of 1 700 employees and offers medical, educational, sport. recreation and other social facilities on the Estate in Mazabuka.
The recently expanded Nakambala Sugar Mill area comprises approximately 28 000 hectares of irrigated sugarcane. An approximately 17 000 hectares of the planted area is owned by Zambia Sugar Plc: and the balance of 11 000 hectares is owned by fourteen commercial Growers and three small-scale grower entities whose affairs are managed by the Estimated Recoverable Crystal (ERC) Committee comprising membership from Zambia Sugar Plc and the Growers.
The Company now invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the following position:
EXPORT SERVICES MANAGER (Zamsug-ESM–1)
Main Purpose of the Job
The Export Services Manager will be responsible for managing, contributing to, executing and reporting on all export initiatives and programs. events and all applicable movements of sugar to the export market to support approved export strategies. The role will further involve the day to day management of the export sections, sales budgets and customer changing needs. The  ESM will be the principal contact person for all the government institutions and agencies as regards getting all the export formalities and documentation as approved by the company.
Main Responsibilities
  • Managing the day to day administration and activities of the export section, sales budgets, operations budget and export customer needs requirements
  • Ensuring the execution of all exports to the region and other markets
  • Managing the reconciliation of customer balances on both sugar and molasses with Nakambala, Lusaka and Ndola offices
  • Constant liaison with the banks and other financial organisations on export formalities
  • Providing information to customers on all inquiries in a timely manner to ensure a seamless customer experience
  • Managing the acquittal system for all the sugar exported by working closely with the customs clearing agents and the outsourced company handling acquittals with the Zambia Revenue Authority
  • Managing the acquisition of all export permits for all the sugar exported
  • Managing the process of gathering and storing all export documents for the sugar sent to the region and other markets
  • Working with the section head identify developmental needs of subordinates and then coaching, mentoring them to improve their knowledge and skills.
Qualifications and Experience
  • University Degree preferably in Business Studies, Marketing or Economics
  • 5 years relevant experience in Marketing, preferably export marketing
  • Practical experience and knowledge of sales in the regional markets (DRC, Great Lakes Area which comprise of Rwanda, Burundi, Southern Tanzania, East Africa Community which comprise of Kenya and Uganda, SACU)
  • Member of Zambia Institute of Marketing

CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER , United Bank for Africa Zambia Ltd


Job Objective
  • Preparation of Management Accounts and regular filing of ALL regulatory authorities/agencies returns for compliance;
  • Providing regulatory consultancy services to staff of various offices of the Bank with a view to ensuring regulatory compliance
Duties & Responsibilities

  • Help to create awareness of regulatory documentations for processes and approvals.

  • Supervise the job performance of members of accounting system, GL review,  ratings & market intelligence, Fixed Asset management unit.
  • Provide strategic support and directives to various business offices within the country during audit of the Bank by regulatory authorities/external auditors
  • Pursue positive perception of the Bank by all regulatory authorities and agencies and liaise with concerned units in preparing all responses to queries from the regulatory authorities and other agencies
Job Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in accountancy graduating with credit or better
  • Full ACCA/ CIMA
  • Registered member of ZICA
  • 5 years experience in a similar/ senior financial role in a bank
  • Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory pronouncements and financial laws.
  • Knwoledge of banking operations

CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER , United Bank for Africa Zambia Ltd


Job Objective
To plan, direct and oversee the strategies and activities of the Operations, ICT, E Banking Support  and Corporate Services  units within the country subsidiary. Providing leadership and supervision to the heads of these units.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Supervise the formulation / implementation of the policies, procedures and controls for the units in the country subsidiary that would ensure alignment of these units to the predetermined corporate objectives of the Group. Also make recommendations on required policy changes due to peculiarities within the resident country to  Group COO.
  • Directs the supervisors who co-ordinate the activities of these units for effective and efficient service delivery.
  • Supervise and ensure an efficient turn around time is achieved by instituting the required monitoring systems for consistent optimum service delivery
  • Ensure adequate allocation of personnel and material resources to the departments/units for effective processing
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the country MD and COO UBA Group
Requirements
  • Relevant first degree graduating with credit or better
  • MBA, or other professional qualification will be an added advantage
  • At least 11 years post qualification banking experience with 5 years in a management position and a sound knowledge of banking operations,  ICT,  and management of E Banking platforms
  • Knowledge of Banking Operations (Domestic & International Operations)
  • Negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of project management process

Job Objectives
To oversee the provision of a consistently good condition of all infrastructure, and ensure that the environment and facilities in the building consistently meet international standards.
Duties & Responsibilities
