We are looking for experienced, innovative, motivated, self-starter individuals to fill the positions of National Programme Coordinator, Community Development Facilitator and Finance Officer on the ‘Yes I Do ‘Programme. This is a Netherlands government funded gender equality and Sexual reproductive health rights programme.
Community Development Facilitator –‘ Yes I Do’ Project (Eastern Programme Unit 1 position )
Position Description
Community Development Facilitator provides the link between Plan International Zambia and the communities in areas where Plan implements its activities. The incumbent is responsible for mobilising communities and ensuring that the mandate of Plan and donors is achieved to improve the lives of children and families. This position reports to the Programme Coordinator Child Protection & Participation in the Eastern Programme Unit.
Key areas of responsibility include:
Living in the community as part of Plan Global Immersion Strategy
Facilitating project design, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation in the assigned area of operation
Facilitating effective participation of children, families, communities and stakeholders in programme activities
Facilitating the integration of programme and Building Relationships(BR) activities in communities
Participating in community entry processes, feasibility studies, risk analyses, baseline surveys, phase in and phase out strategies
Strengthening good working relationships with all stakeholders/implementing partners; and holding regular meetings with community structures
Enhancing community capacity building initiatives
Representing Plan in all developmental stakeholder meetings and networks at ward and village levels
Establishing good working relations with children, families, community leadership, community based organizations (CBOs), government extension staff, and other stakeholders at ward and village levels
Identifying key Child Protection risks within the area of operation and putting in place appropriate control measures to manage them.
Individual Specifications:
Possession of a Diploma in Development Studies or related discipline.
Possession of a valid Class 3 or 4 Driver`s license and ability to ride a motorbike
2-3 years experience in a similar role in an NGO environment
Experience in Facilitating Economic Empowerment interventions and Sexual and Reproductive Health will be an added advantage
Clear and effective communication
Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural environment
Proficient in computer skills with excellent knowledge of Microsoft packages
Good facilitation and interpersonal skills
Good t time management, administrative, and organisational skills
