We are looking for an outstanding Human Resource with extensive experience in high profile and complex environments to fill the following position: DATABASE ENGINEER
This role reports directly to the IT Manager and is responsible for efficiently managing, controlling and maintaining the Windows Server 2003/2008, Exchange Server 2003, Terminal Server and general networks in the bank. Also responsible for the usage, accuracy, efficiency, security, maintenance, administration and development of an organizations computerized systems, server infrastructure and database.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (KPAs)
- Ensure system maintenance according to schedule/plan.
- Provide system user support
- Ensure system back-ups and recoveries are done as per planned time frame.
- Responsible for hardware development
- Responsible for system preparation for testing and trial runs.
- Responsible for system configuration preparation
- Responsible for system installations/implementations and upgrading
- Ensure Identification of support and maintenance issues that will impact project delivery.
- Consistently checking/monitoring systems performance on a daily basis
- Ensure reports are prepared regarding system performance for analysis.
EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- A minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience
- Excellent knowledge of the Bank’s products & services bouquet
- Excellent interpersonal relationship skills
- Proven ability to work with diverse stakeholder groups
- Excellent analytical and financial evaluation skills
QUALIFICATIONS
- Complete grade 12 Certificate with credits or better in Mathematics and English
- Diploma or Degree in a commerce related field
- Certificate in Banking and Finance will be an added advantage.
