DISTRICT ELECTION TRAINERS AT ELECTORAL COMMISSION OF ZAMBIA


ELECTORAL COMMISSION OF ZAMBIA
PUBLIC NOTICE ADVERT FOR THE RECRUITMENT OF DISTRICT ELECTION TRAINERS FOR 2016 GENERAL ELECTIONS AND REFERENDUM
In preparation for the 2016 General Elections and Referendum, the Electoral Commission of Zambia has embarked on training its various categories of election officers. The Commission is therefore inviting officers (listed on the attached schedule) who were trained, certified and worked as District Election Trainers (DETs) prior to the 2011 tripartite elections to apply for reconsideration as DETs for the forth coming elections and referendum. The Officers are required to submit the following documents to the office of the Town Clerk/Council Secretary in their respective districts:
1. Application letter and Curriculum Vitae for consideration as a DET for the 2016 General Elections and Referendum;
2. Copy of NRC;
3. Copy of Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) Certificate or Letter of Appointment; and
4. Transfer letter (if relocated to another district).
Persons meeting the following selection criteria are also encouraged to apply for consideration as DETs to the office of Town Clerk/Council Secretary in the applicant’s town/district of residence:
Qualifications
  • A Grade 12 Certificate with passes in English and Mathematics;
  • At least 2 years of tertiary education;
  • A higher qualification will be an added advantage;
  • Registered voter;
  • Zambian with a green National Registration Card;
  • Conversant with Zambian electoral practices and procedures.
Requirements
  • Experience in elections at Assistant Presiding Officer level or better;
  • Experience in facilitating, training or teaching;
  • Available to conduct training at district level when required;
  • Ready to work in any district within the province of residence.
Personal Attributes
  • Able to implement lawful orders and electoral programmes at short notice;
  • Innovative and use initiative while paying attention to the Commission’s policies, guidelines, regulations and other laws governing the electoral process;
  • Fluent in spoken and written English and any applicable local language.
  • Non-partisan, sober minded, self-motivated and of integrity;
  • Flexible, attentive to detail and possess good interpersonal skills;
  • Able to work with minimal supervision;
  • A team player and possess good team building ability;
  • An excellent communicator and possess problem solving skills;
  • Have good planning and organizing skills;
  • Able to implement training programmes and any other instructions at short notice.
Closing date for receipt of applications is Friday, 10th June 2016.
