Working in Zambia since 1996, Plan International Zambia’s development and capacity building programmes focus primarily on education, health and sanitation, economic empowerment, and child protection and participation. Plan’s work is guided by our Child-Centered Community Development (CCCD) approach. Plan International Zambia has programme units in: Central, Luapula, Eastern, province and in Lusaka, where the Country Office (CO) is located.
Plan’s is looking for innovative, motivated self starter individuals to fill the following vacancy:
Program Manager Education (Lusaka)
Job Purpose:
To manage and lead the delivery of Plan International Zambia’s Education Programme in line with the Country Strategic Plan, Country Programme Goals, and the Child Centered Community Development Approach.
Job holder reports to the Programme & Strategy Manager and s/he will be;
- Implementing, monitoring , evaluating, technical support and supervision of the Education Country Programme with a focus on quality education at primary cchool and Early childhood Care and Development levels
- Facilitate child friendly social accountability tools as part of governance in education programs.
- Establishing partnerships and representing Plan International Zambia in Education Networks
- Provide technical support to Early Childhood Care and Development programmess across all project sites
- Establishing and implementing standards of accountability, effectiveness and efficiency for the programme
- Lead in the design and implementation of Education Programmess that focus specifically on the girl child and children with disabilities
- Coordinating capacity building at all levels for effective and efficient delivery of the Country Programme and Projects at all levels
- Identifying key child protection risks within the programme and putting in appropriate control measures to manage them.
- Keeping track of developments and continued review of national and local plans and policies on education
Individual Specifications include:
- 3-5 years experience with 3 years managing a programme
- A degree in Education
- Masters qualification or above will be an added advantage
- Highly developed conceptual and project management skills
- Experience in girl child education, governance and advocacy
- Experience in developing and writing grant proposals
