In line with the corporate priorities aimed at ensuring optimisation of revenue collection and increased tax compliance on the one hand and the need to effectively manage the numerous challenges and opportunities in the fast changing business environment on the other, we are seeking a highly motivated, results-oriented and well-qualified and experienced professional to fill the following vacancy in the Corporate Services Division under Administration Department.
Procurement Officer
Reporting directly to the Procurement Controller, the job holder will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the procurement department activities through timely expediting and managing contracts of goods and services in order to meet organisational requirements.
Main duties
- Coordinate and obtain No Objections for Solicitation documents and contracts to facilitate the timely purchase of goods and services, in liaison with the Procurement Controller
- Prepare committee papers for submission to ZPPA as directed by the Procurement Controller
- Conduct timely contracting of goods and services from the identified right sources in the line with the principle of Value for Money
- Offer day to day advice on the pending Contracting and Contract Management issues to Procurement Controller
- Assist the procurement Controller in the production of monthly status reports on procurements
- Provide timely advice on matters of procurement whose delivery schedules
- Determine the best monitoring method for the procurement plan
- Participate in tender evaluation
- Prepare in tender monitoring reports for the acquisition of goods and services
- Conduct secretarial duties at all tender opening meeting and follow up on procurement committee decision
- Provide procurement progress information to ends users regarding lead times expected delivery
Requirements
- Grande twelve School Certificates or General Certificate of Education (GCE)equivalent
- Bachelor’s Degree in any field Plus Graduate Diploma of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply
- Minimum of three years’ experience in Procurement
- Full knowledge of the Zambia Public Procurement procedures
- Member of Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply with a valid practising Licence
- Knowledge of SAP will be added advantage
