Astro Mobile Zambia a subsidiary of a pan African Mobile devices and technology company Astro Mobile Africa with presence in several African countries is currently looking for a qualified individual to fill the position of Credit Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Managing Director, the incumbent will be charged with the following,
Create and implement credit processes, identifying risks and opportunities based on the company’s business strategy and market conditions
Managing collections and recoveries as per set targets
Establishing standards for granting credit; develops criteria for establishing open credit limits, determines how and when credit terms will be extended, etc.
Managing relationships with outside vendors for credit related services
Negotiates settlements and represents the company in credit-related court hearings
Providing continuous improvement leadership and motivation to identify and implement cross-functional process improvement opportunities
Establishing strong, proactive partnerships within and outside the company to minimize bad debt losses and improve service to customers
Job Requirements Include:
A Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field. An MBA will be an added advantage
7 Years experience in a consumer lending environment
Working knowledge of informal sector lending
Strong management, leadership, negotiation, conflict management, and decision-making skills with an emphasis on customer service.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, QuickBooks and Loan Performer
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work in a team environment
