ICS YOUTH PROJECT MANAGER

Job Title: ICS Youth Project Manager
Role Overview:
To work with young people in an international development context, managing projects at a community level, and supporting Team Leaders, partners, host homes and volunteers to effectively deliver the ICS project. The Project Coordinator will assist ICS Project Manager and partners with programme design and stakeholder engagement, providing pastoral support and guidance on project implementation. S/he will also work with Team Leaders and act as the VSO ICS representative in the communities at all times. S/he will support host home and placement organizations hosting volunteers with promoting learning, cross-cultural engagement and relationship building, uphold safety, security and welfare processes in the target community, and effectively manage the project budget, submitting monthly reports to the partner and country office.
The Essential requirements for this post are:
  • Minimum of a Degree in Social Sciences, Development studies or equivalent qualification in a development related field
  • Proven experience of working with and providing support to 18-25 year olds from a wide range of backgrounds and with proven ability to facilitate learning in a non-formal environments
  • Direct and substantial experience of working cross-culturally and able to communicate to a range of audiences and promote sharing and learning between cultures.
  • Able to develop clear and realistic plans to deliver agreed objectives within deadlines, involving key individuals in the planning process.
  • Strong skills in M&E, including the development of appropriate reporting tools and systems
  • Strong report writing skills and good verbal communication skills to effectively work with colleague’s in-country and overseas.
  • Effective project budgets management, data gathering and processing, case studies compilation and M&E skills.
  • Significant experience of working in a supervisory role. Proven ability to promote self-awareness, learning and development among individuals.
