SCHOOL DIRECTOR

Job Title: School Director

An outstanding boarding school in Lusaka is looking to recruit a Director for the school.

Roles and Responsibilities:

To oversee and ensure that all aspects of the boarding school are effective, conducive to excellent learning and fit for purpose.
To ensure that the school ethos is reflected in all aspects of the school.
Provide overall strategic leadership and, with others, lead, develop and support the strategic direction, vision, values and priorities of the school.
With the Trustees provide the leadership and management which enables every pupil to access a high quality education which promotes the highest possible standards of achievement and well-being.
Other duties will include:

To ensure that the school meets all Government regulations including curriculum and examination council expectations.
To oversee and strategically plan for the human, financial and physical resources of the school as a whole.
To report to the trustees matters of concern, areas of development or proposed changes.
To investigate, develop and implement strategies to continue improving the school in all aspects of its remit.
To ensure that staff are accountable for the areas under their remit and are supported in meeting these expectations.
To ensure that all policies and procedures are up to date and adhered to.
To ensure continuous school improvement school through the use of development plans, targeted action planning and effective CPD for staff
To work with and through other leaders in the school to:
ensure a continuous and consistent focus on pupils’ achievement, using data to monitor progress
establish creative, responsive and effective approaches to learning and teaching
set high expectations and set stretching targets for the school community
monitor, evaluate and review school practice and promote improvement strategies
tackle under-performance at all levels
Ensure effective management and running of a well ordered, organised and suitably staffed school
To ensure that the Boarding staff provide a nurturing and enriching environment.
To ensure cohesion and equality between boarding and teaching staff.

Essentials:

The right person must have:

Worked in an education background either in Zambia or Africa.
A minimum of 5 years management experience.
Possess a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree will be an added advantage).
