Human Resource Officer - Securities and Exchange Commission

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is a body corporate established by an Act of Parliament, the securities Act NO.38 of 1993, CAP 354 of the Laws of Zambia, with an objective of inter-alia regulating and developing the Zambia Capital Markets. The Securities and Exchange Commission is responsible for the supervision and development of the Capital Markets in Zambia as well as the licensing of financial intermediaries, collective investment schemes and securities exchanges, the registration of securities to be issued such as debt and equity instruments and the authorization of transaction in entities registered with the SEC,inter alia.
SEC now seeks to recruit qualified person to be appointed into the following vacant position to help it achieve its objectives both in terms of it’s the overall mandate as well as its strategic objectives
The Job Purpose :
To provide support to Manager – Administration in matters relating to Human Resource and Administration. The Job holder will report to Manager—Administration.
Key Duties include:
• Process, verify, and maintain documentation relating to personnel activities such as staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations and personal records.
• Interpret conditions of service, disciplinary code and grievance procedure.
• Monitor the institution security system, working environment and maintain assets
• Supervise subordinates in the department.
The following qualities/competences are a must:
• Excellent computer skills, including Word and Excel in a Microsoft Windows environment.
• General knowledge of various employment laws and practices.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and organizational skills
• Skills in database management and record keeping
• Able to exhibit a high level of confidentiality including gathering and analyzing information skillfully
Qualifications
• Minimum Academic qualifications: Grade 12 School Certificate
• Minimum Vocational or Professional qualifications: Degree in Human Resource Management Public Administration or Business Administration
• Professional Body: Must be a member of the Zambia institute of Human Resource Management (ZIFIRM)
• Minimum Work Experience: 3 years
