LOCAL RESEARCH COORDINATOR

Zoona is a fast paced, constantly evolving environment with operations in Zambia and Malawi and growth opportunities in many more countries. Our customers are both our agent network and the consumers that they serve. This role is responsible for gaining insight and understanding into our customers in Zambia, their needs and expectations, as well as measuring their satisfaction against how Zoona delivers against their needs. In many ways we are creating expectations as market leaders, and expectations change constantly. This role supports the Customer Experience team by coordinating and executing the field research in Zambia to ensure that the Customer Experience team is delivering against customer expectations, prioritizing against their needs, and building products that are relevant and meet their needs. This role focuses on:

Establishment of an on the ground network of resources to recruit research participants, coordinate venues, pay participant allowances, and conduct research
Insight generation through research execution in Zambia
Coordination and delivery of high quality market research results
Local comprehension of social, ethnographic, and cultural factors in Zambia
Detailing market trends and market dynamics
Deep understanding of Zoona customers and the competitive landscape
Synthesizing research findings and serving as the voice of the consumer during research debriefs
REQUIREMENTS

What skills should you have?

We are looking for a passionate extrovert with a strong background in consumer insights research and a love for coordinating and executing research in the field. Customer insights need to be part of the air we breathe and we require someone who can make the customer and their needs unavoidable in our workplace. You should enjoy interacting with people, seeking understanding and finding creative solutions. You should be highly organized and detail oriented. You must be available to travel, keen to learn and available to experiences out of your comfort zone. We are looking for someone to dive right into the challenges this exciting business has to offer.

Required:

At least 3 years market research experience
Research coordination and project management skills
Experience conducting in-depth interviews and/or focus groups
Great analytical and presentation skills
Being able to drive things to completion without needing assistance but by using the people and tools available, and if the resources you need are not available then finding another way
Experience working with low-income communities in Africa
Demonstrated ability to work in fast-moving environments, take initiative, and drive results
A desire to learn new things and constantly evolve
Fluent in English
Ability to travel
Preferred:

Experience creating recruitment screeners and sourcing research participants
Experience with rapid prototyping, mystery shopping, or ethnographic research
Experience working for a big research agency
Ability to speak Bemba or other local language
Proficient in SPSS or Microsoft Excel
