WORK HOURS: Full-Time, 40 Hours/Week
SALARY: Ordinarily Resident (OR): FSN-04 (Starting salary ZK 84, 333.71); Not-Ordinarily Resident (NOR): FP-AA (Starting salary $25, 011) *Final grade/step for NORs will be determined by Washington.
The U.S. Mission in Zambia is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Plumber.
BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION
The incumbent installs and repairs plumbing systems including but not limited to sinks, showers, water heaters, water filters, toilets, pipes, pressure pumps, pressure vessels, and boreholes. S/he ensures hot and cold water taps operate properly with adequate pressure. The incumbent also installs and repairs sewer disposal systems for bathrooms, kitchens and laundry rooms. Ensures that drains are large enough and open and pipes are joined without leaking. S/he assists with installation and preparing of plumbing systems for swimming pools, ensuring that pipes are correctly attached, pumps and filters are correctly installed.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

EDUCATION:
Successful completion of senior secondary school and craft certificate in plumbing is required. Completion of one (1) year vocational training or apprenticeship is required.
EXPERIENCE:
Three (3) years of working experience as a plumber is required. 3
LANGUAGE:
Fluent (Level III) English is required. (This will be tested.)
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must be able to use all tools of the trade. (This will be tested.). A valid driver’s license is required.
JOB KNOWLEDGE:
Full journeyman knowledge of established plumbing procedures and safety rules is required.
