Responsibilities
- Planning, installation, configuration and maintenance of core network infrastructure that comprises the NISIR network and member institutions
- Troubleshoot faults on the network and provide technical solutions to ensure high availability of network services
- Installation, configuration and maintenance of server applications and systems that provide services to NISIR and member institutions
- Analysing performance information for audit and maintenance purposes so that network services and peripherals are efficiently and cost effectively provided
- Monitoring, optimizing and managing of resources (such as bandwidth) on the NISIR network
- Ensuring integrity of the network system
- Liaising with internet service providers
- Running user ICT help desk and conducting user training
- Maintenance and improvement of institutional website
Qualifications
- Grade 12 certificate or its equivalent from recognised secondary/high school
- Diploma in information technology, computer science or other closely related fields
Possession of CCNA/MCSEN/N + or other recognised networking profession qualification - Three years practical experience in a demanding networking environment
