II. Position Description:
1. Conduct social marketing activities to increase awareness of nutrition supplements.
a. Establish community distribution network of CBDs and oversee marketing of HEPS at community level.
b. Identify and implement community distribution models level to increase marketing of HEPS at community level.
c. Monitoring the implementation of community distribution models in graduating sites and making adjustments where necessary.
2. Management of Voucher pilot
a. To monitor, within the health facilities, the implementation of the voucher system by health care workers. This includes ensuring correct registration of clients on the system, receipt of vouchers by clients and troubleshooting any issues in the system.
b. To monitor process of client voucher redemption at retailer’s stores. This will include ensuring that vouchers are being redeemed to clients correctly by retail staff and reporting if/when the process is not conducted correctly.
c. To report to the voucher supplier and to the Thrive team any technical challenges and mitigation encountered during the implementation of the voucher pilot.
d. Providing technical support to health facility, and retailer staff in the event of challenges being experienced on the ground during the implementation process.
e. The Junior Business Advisor will be responsible for ensuring that the reports generated by the voucher supplier are submitted to the Thrive project in a timely manner (weekly basis).
3. Facilitation of linkages
- Collaborate with Business Advisor and Program Manager in strengthening relationships with such partners over the course of the project
- Contribute input to project work plan on mechanisms to facilitate linkages and execute work plan accordingly
4. Monitoring and evaluation (M&E)
- Be responsible for gathering all M&E data particularly pertaining to the voucher system and commercialization activities.
- Collecting monthly sales reports from CBDs
- Contribute to all quarterly and final M&E reports as required by the Donor in the Performance Grant Agreement
- Track activities vs. milestones with particular regard to milestone-based invoices
5. Lessons learnt analysis and sharing
a. Assist in creating presentations and case studies to share with stakeholders via presentations at other forums/TNS events
6. Any other tasks within the scope of work
III. Required Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s in Business, Administration, Economics, Marketing, International Affairs/Development, or other relevant area
- Minimum of one year relevant experience in retail, strategy consulting, business administration, finance and/or marketing in the private sector and/or with an NGO
- Preferred: Experience in business development services for private sector development
- Experience working in Zambia or other African nations
- Strong interpersonal skills; excellent oral and written communication skills
- PC computer skills in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required
- Self-starter, results-oriented, and entrepreneurial with the ability to work with substantial autonomy and influence others with minimal supervisory authority
