Development Aid from People to People (DAPP) is inviting interested, qualified and experienced candidates to apply for an HIV Nutrition and Food Security Specialist position for an upcoming HIV prevention and care project. If granted, the project is expected to start in October 2016 and will be for 5 years. The Specialist is expected to work with heath facilities as well as with communities to improve nutrition and food security for PLHIV and will be carried out in 6 provinces of Zambia. The position will be based in Ndola.
Description of the position:
The HIV Nutrition and Food Security Specialist will be overall responsible for the development and implementation of nutrition and food security activities integrated with HIV care and treatment.
- He/ she will facilitate training of trainers on various levels including health personnel at national, provincial, district and facility levels.
- Activities on national level will include review and improvement of health personnel curriculum related to HIV and nutrition as well as policy review to increase support to PLHIV in relation to nutrition.
- Activities on facility level will include nutrition assessment and counselling, therapeutic feeding and linkages to community food security programmes.
- He/she will work with the Ministry of Health, Community Development and Agriculture at national, provincial, district and facility levels; including strengthening coordination and linkages.
Qualifications:
- Master Degree in Public Health or Food Science and Nutrition
- At least 7 years of experience in a similar position related to HIV and nutrition in a multi province setting.
- Experience working with USAID / PEPFAR supported projects will be an added advantage.
