JSI Research and Training Institute, Inc. (JSI) seeks highly qualified and accomplished public health leaders and providers for the recently awarded United States Agency for International Development (USAID)-funded District Coverage of Health Services (USAID DISCOVER-H) Project.The five-year project, which will be led by JSI in collaboration with the Palladium Group, will support the efficient and effective control of the HIV epidemic, malaria, childhood illnesses, and unplanned pregnancies in order to reduce associated morbidity and mortality. The USAID DISCOVER-H vision is to improve the lives of Zambians by ensuring equitable access to and use of high quality health services and products at the district and community levels. Working towards this vision, USAID DISCOVER-H will develop and help sustain a health model that maximizes the relative strengths of the public and private (commercial and non-commercial) sectors, to deliver health products and services that reach all beneficiaries and consumer markets. Through a market-based approach, USAID DISCOVER-H will serve as a strategic partner and steward to the Government of the Republic of Zambia at national, provincial. and district levels in ensuring a conducive policy environment for a total market approach in service and product delivery; conducting and using market-based research to define market segments so that messages, services, and products can be appropriately targeted; and developing partnerships among and between various sectors to help grow and sustain the overall health market in Zambia and reach undeserved populations and areas. Overview
The Supply Chain Coordinator provides technical guidance and assistance to USAID DISCOVER-H Zambia field office on logistics system design, logistics management information systems (LMIS), LMIS data management for HIV/AIDS and TB, Maternal and Child Health, Reproductive Health and Family Planning commodities. Reporting to the Supply Chain Director, she/he provides training, monitoring and supervisions forecasting and quantification, pipeline monitoring and procurement planning.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance to USAID DISCOVER-H service delivery points on logistics system, logistics management information systems (LMIS) and LMIS data management;
- Conduct training, monitoring and supervision, forecasting and quantification, pipeline monitoring and procurement planning:
- Represent USAID DISCOVER-H at various technical forums with other cooperating agencies.collaborating partners, Ministry of Health officials and/or donor agencies. Particpate in various technical working groups, as required;
- With the supply chain director, provide management support and oversight over USAID DISCOVER-H central warehousing operations;
- Provide regular technical support and guidance to USAID DISCOVER-H service delivery points. to address logistics system problems co ensure consistent supply of commodities;
- Track all USAID DISCOVER-H procured shipments to ensure their timely and efficient delivery to the central and district warehouses as required;
- Collaborate with Ministry of Health and the private sector at central,provincial and district levels of health care co promote sustainability of USAID DISCOVER-H activities.
Required Qualifications and skills
- Degree or Diploma in Pharmacy,Public Health or related field;
- At least five (5) years experience in supply chain management of HIV/AIDS treatment and prevention TB, Family planning, and Reproductive health commodities in the public or private sector;
- Experience in logistics/supply chain management for public health commodities:
- Experience working with GRZ counterparts and counterparts from other implementing agencies:
- Computer literate in Word,Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability co travel frequently to provide technical support to the regional offices and USAID DISCOVER-H cites in both urban and rural communities
- Detail-oriented person. with good organizational ski I Is:
