The following position is available for immediate appointments in the National Biogas Support Unit (NBSU) to be hosted under the Renewable Energy Sector of SNV Zambia
Chief Biogas Engineer (CBO) – NBSU-Based in Lusaka (1)
Purpose
To work in the National Biogas Support Unit (NBSU) under the supervision of NBSU Coordinator for the promotion and extension of biodigester technology at the grassroots level ensuring good quality of construction as well as operation and maintenance of biodigesters at the household level through continuous monitoring visits and capacity building of stakeholders.
This position takes overall responsibilities of (i) implementation of Quality Control and Enforcement (QCE) procedures, (ii) providing feedback on QCE and Customer Service Centre’s work to BCEs and other relevant stakeholders (iii) supervising/facilitating technical training and capacity building initiatives for BCEs and other stakeholders; and (iv) identifying and carrying out research and development initiatives.
Qualification, Work Experience and Professional Skills
Should have university degree on Civil/Environmental/Agricultural/Electrical Engineering or Environmental/Natural Resources Management or Renewable Energy Technologies.
At least five years experiences in promotion and extension of new technology in general and Renewable Energy Technology in particular
At least five years experiences in promotion and extension of new technology in general and Renewable Energy Technology in particular
Working environment:
Positions 1-3: All Lusaka-based with 60% of office time and 40% field time.
Positions 4: 1 Lusaka based and 1 Southern Province based with 40% of office time and 60% field time.
