Society for Family Health (SFH) is a leading Local Zambian Organisation with programmes targeting malaria, child survival, HIV and reproductive health. SFH work ranges from on the ground implementation of health services, and community programs to distribution of health care products and services to the most vulnerable populations, provides life-saving products, clinical services and behaviour change communications that empower the most vulnerable populations to lead healthier lives.
SFH seeks an experienced individual for the position of Internal Audit Manager, responsible for internal controls, related to operational, financial and administrative.
S/he achieves this by conducting independent appraisals of the effectiveness of internal control systems, compliance to donor regulations, policies and procedures of the Country Office. This is a Lusaka based position and reports to Director of Internal Audit.
Responsibilities and Duties
  • Assists Director of Internal Audit to develop an annual internal audit plan which supports monitoring compliance with PSI, donor and local legal requirements based on a risk prioritisation, including both SFH Zambia local operations and sub-awardees.
  • Develops audit Scope, Methodology, objectives and plans for each audit to be performed.
  • Develops risk based audit work programs to ensure audit tests are in line with audit objectives.
  • Identify control weaknesses and areas of actual or potential non-compliance with PSI and donor requirements and summarize these in an internal audit report, containing observations and internal control and procedural improvement recommendations.
  • Assist Director of Internal Audit to monitor the implementation status of recommendations made by SFH Zambia internal audit team, PSI’s Global Internal Auditors, donor auditors, financial statement external auditors, and other audit recommendations as applicable.
  • Provide capacity building support to SFH Zambia around internal controls and anti-fraud measures.
  • Makes recommendations on the systems and procedures being reviewed and monitor management response and implementation.
Requirements
  • Qualified Chartered Certified Accountant and/or accounting or finance degree required
  • A member of the Zambia Institute of Certified Accountants.
  • At least 5 years experience in internal or external audit in a reputable Audit firm, commercial, government or non-governmental organization.
  • Good / excellent written skills in English.
  • Good Interpersonal Skills.

  • Forensic Investigation Skills
  • Good Planning and Analytical Skills
  • Interviewing Skills
  • Computer literacy and familiarity with excel.
  • Good/ excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of USAID/Global Fund and other donor regulations required
  • Ability to travel nationally 40% of time to SFH Zambia Platform offices.
