CARE, an International Non-Governmental relief and development organization with various projects in Central, Copperbelt, Eastern, Muchinga, Luapula, Lusaka, Northern, North-western, and Southern provinces of Zambia, has the following vacancy available at Head Office in Lusaka:
Program Director – Social Development
The successful candidate will be accountable, as an in-house principal adviser and member of the Senior Leadership Team, for intellectual leadership, coordination, integration and oversight of CARE Zambia’s Social Development programs, will coordinate and oversee the ongoing implementation and further development of CARE’s programming under his/her supervision in order to ensure that all CARE operations achieve their goals and objectives.
Qualifications & Experience:
Master’s degree or equivalent work experience; Ten or more years of relevant work experience; Senior management training and experience relevant to INGO operations; Relevant training specific to at least one technical aspect of the role or membership of professional body; Staff and budget management experience; Establishing and maintaining relationships with donors, partners, private sector and government institutions; Proven ability to analyze and creatively resolve strategic issues; Proven capacity to apply a gender equality approach, in programs and in human resource and talent management; Ability to provide guidance to subordinates in problem solving; Ability to establish and nurture a positive working environment and resolve conflicts within the approved levels of authority.
