Mary’s Meals International is a fast-growing international charity, currently providing over one million hungry and impoverished children in four continents with a daily school meal.
Mary’s Meals International is the central organisation that co-ordinates, supports and leads the global Mary’s Meals movement, under the direction of the Chief Executive and Chief Operating Officer and through the work of four global directorates: Programmes, Finance and Organisational Development, IT and Operations and Communications and Fundraising.
The Mary’s Meals global movement is facilitated through the Mary’s Meals International Network, which spans the countries of Austria, Canada, Croatia, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, the Netherlands, Spain, UK, USA, and Zambia. Mary’s Meals International also has a number of partnering agencies delivering life-changing programmes in Benin, Burma, Ecuador, Haiti, India, Kenya, South Sudan, Thailand and Uganda.
You will support quality assurance in programme delivery, to build the capacity of Mary’s Meals Zambia’s Programmes Team through improving systems and processes, and by providing direct training, coaching and mentoring. You will also will provide technical support to the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Team and facilitate the implementation of the global M&E Strategy.
It is essential that you have a degree in a relevant subject or demonstrable significant experience in a similar role and have at least 12 months of development work in a developing country. This role is based in Zambia and involves extensive and regular travel within the country. You may also be required to visit other countries where Mary’s Meals operates to fulfil the same remit.
In addition, you will have an understanding of the principles of international development as well as cultural sensitivity and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people in different countries and settings. Familiarity with using common planning tools in international development, including log frames is essential. You will also have extensive knowledge of constraints and opportunities in developing school feeding programmes in developing countries with the creative ability to develop effective solutions to those challenges and to present them in high quality reports in clear and concise terms.
