Procurement Officer – General Nursing Council of Zambia

Procurement Officer – (1 Position)

Purpose

The Officer will be responsible for planning and co-ordinating the procurement activities in order to timely acquire goods and services.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

1. Planning of procurement activities
2. Preparing management tender committee papers
3. Coordinating timely acquisition of goods and services from the right sources in line with the principles pf value for money
4. Providing of day-to-day management on procurement issues
5. Certifying all purchase requisitions before submission to the higher authority for approval or authorization
6. Preparing and producing monthly reports
7. Preparing contract documents for goods and services
8. Determining the best procurement methods
9. Preparing tender documents and evaluation reports for all goods and services
10. Co-ordinating all tender evaluation activities and meetings

Minimum Qualifications

1. Form Five or Grade Twelve School Certificate.
2. Level 6 Graduate Diploma of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply
3. Member of the Zambia Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply
4. Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIFS)
5. At least three (3) years post qualifying experience in Purchasing and Supply
6. Knowledge of the Zambia Procurement Authority Procedures
7. Should not be more than 45 years of age

Skill Specifications and Attributes

1. Must have excellent oral and written communications skills
2. Possess good analytical skills
3. Good interpersonal and team work skills
4. Excellent computer skills
5. High level of integrity
