CARE International in Zambia is looking for focused, energetic, well-organized and suitably qualified professionals with at least 3 years of experience in data processing and reporting. Reporting to the Projects Manager – SCALE and SAFE Projects, s/he will be responsible for data collection, data entry, filling and reporting key CARE programme areas, to ensure availability of updated data.

Location: Lusaka
PURPOSE
The overall M&E system for the SCALE and SAFE projects includes performance monitoring and reporting, impact and process evaluations, cross learning, capacity strengthening, management information systems and data quality. To provide support to the SCALE and SAFE project in the implementation of monitoring, evaluation and learning activities, the MIS Officer will work in collaboration with project staff and implementing partners in ensuring effective delivery of the programme. He will play a critical role to ensure the development of monitoring and evaluation capabilities and documentation of lessons learned, best practices and policy briefs.
DUTIES
- Ensure data is collected and entered systematically, timely and accurately in the MIS.
- Provide technical assistance to Project staff in how to not only use but to maximize use of the generated tools and collected data in project management.
- Take lead in development of project database for each of the project components.
- Effectively manage and update the projects MIS and other M&E tools
- Manage online project data systems
- Make sure that MIS is facilitating strategic and operation activities of the program/project distinctly.
- Validate data and conduct complex analysis and strategic data analysis.
- Work with program staff to organize, summarize and utilize data, analysis, information and findings (including visualization of program/project findings).
- Set procedures of design, development and documentation.
- Ensure regular analysis of program/project data and sharing of findings throughout program teams.
- Work on development and submission of project statistic reports summarizing progress against key indicators and other issues as requested.
- Lead in the dissemination of information and program data to communities, ministry representatives and other stakeholders based on the requirement and internal protocol.
- Support the project team in development of questionnaires and tools for any pre-and-post training evaluations and project studies.
- Support the project team in development and implementation of monitoring and evaluation plan.
- Coordinate with project staff for the interest of project documentation and project reporting.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications & Experience
- BSc/BA in Computer Science, Library Studies, Information Systems, Demography, Development studies, Sociology, Public Health, etc.
- At least 3 years of experience in data processing.
- Competence in qualitative and quantitative research, monitoring and evaluation methods including survey design and report writing skills
- Demonstrated computer skills in office packages, database development and research software
- Ability to organize and manage data and maintain computer systems up to acceptable standards
- Strong analytical , coordination, facilitation ,negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Excellent and demonstrable writing and communication skills
- Organized and independent worker
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and coordinate with a variety of stakeholders, maintaining harmonious and productive working relationships
